I'm pretty sure that this is Jan's Twitter account. https://twitter.com/jangaye/followers
She has made a statement under Zeola's post about her working to get the truth out about her brother as well as under MG the 3rd's post in which she said "@MGAYE3RD @ZeolaGaye Delusional and will be held accountable".

Also checking her other posts, including pictures and a few big time followers, I have no doubt in my mind that it isn't Jan's account. What do you guys think? Also it wouldn't be so bad to hear her side of things. Wonder what ever happened to that book? huh

^ She didn't get a publishing deal. She obviously took offense to Zeola claiming Elizabeth Hunter was a racist atheist... to be honest, I'm having trouble believing Zee on that.

To SM, nice to know you at least have an open mind. We should always hear both sides to every situation in life, especially other people's lives. TU.

To Timmy, Good to know that you have your doubts about the 'book' and what was said about 'Elizabeth Hunter'. You are mistaken there. That is my middle and maiden name, not my mother's. My mother has been deceased for many years and was no 'racist atheist'.That's simply not true and is hurtful. I think I would know that. Maybe check wikipedia. Not always accurate but it does clear things up from time to time.

Really appreciate you taking the time to join us here. I also agree that we may not have had all accurate information, but so much we had to figure out on our own. However, lately we have been getting more and more of Marvin Gaye's family and friends stepping out that has been enlightening us on their thoughts. I do hope that you get your chance to tell your side because it is long overdue. Marvin Gaye truly left a great deal of affection on all those who knew him both publicly and personally. Again laugh

(Okay time to freak out... JAN IS ACTUALLY POSTING HERE!!!!OMG!!!!) grin grin grin

Hi again SM,
I have been here many times...I like to know what is on people's minds where Marvin is concerned as well as the family. Obviously there are many disconnects from within. Its when dishonesty is on the table and people and fans of Marvin's MUSIC are sucked in that it becomes disturbing. There is a good reason why family is weighing in, from films to plays to books, it affects us. My primary concern is how it affects my family, Nona, Frankie and Nolan. The other thing is the bad information. I did not know that I did not have a book deal. LOL. BTW, my Mother's name was Barbara, not Elizabeth. That's what I mean, SM...just saying. I hope that people on the this forum will continue to truly honor Marvin by taking the time to find out the truth. Read a book before you decide its good or honest and respectful to him. What's the point of a forum unless it honors the person. Marvin deserves that. Peace...

shocked (Comes out of Retirement) lol sorry for not being such an avid poster guys, I even ended up losing my password, but I have been lurking around as a guest every once in a while when I think about MG, which is a lot!

Anyways... JANIS! laugh
I wanted to say that you are a strong and beautiful woman, and you will get your chance, so will MG The 3rd. I have read Zeola's book, and I saw so much hatred at one point that I had to shake my head. I'm not saying its right or wrong, but something's is cooking up in it. Janis I think your children have become outstanding adults( Nona is a princess). Who and what Marvin Gaye loved has been pushed, dragged, and kicked in the dirt when it comes to people sides being told. I think like the others said its long overdue, you got my respect, and yes two sides are better than one. I do know one thing out of Marvin Gaye's legacy and that is he made the most beautiful songs known to a human ear or heart about you, and for that I cannot ignore the love that once set between you guys. Get Down Jan! grin

Regarding the things that have been said and such, I've learned to keep an open mind to all things and listen to all sides. The truth comes in many forms and well there's always the whole "everything is somewhere in the middle" way of looking at things unless they're outright lies.

It's always a pleasure to have someone like Jan grace us with her prescence (ok this is one word I can never spell right) oh and yes, the banana emoticon is the best!

True. We gotta learn to take everything people allege and accuse with grains of salt. Zeola raises a lot of red flags regarding her brother and Janis' relationship...

To all,
I understand this is an open forum and that's a good thing. When it includes elements of my life or those of my children or promotion of information about Marvin that I personally know not to be true, I am affected. Last night on Twitter I mentioned that too much attention is paid to Marvin's death and how he died. Maybe I was not clear. There are too many books, DVD's, TV shows, especially the recent episode of Celebrity Crime Files, which I watched once and was deeply disappointed, but also others that zero in on his murder. As I said, he was so much more than the sum of his 44 years on this planet and when those who profess to love him so much promote themselves and their own agendas it is hurtful, disrespectful and contradictory. He was not a perfect person. No one is. I think what I am getting at is that I am just tired of the sensationalism surrounding that day in April so long ago. Tired of hearing lies after all these years and that there are people willing to believe these lies. Its very sad. If Marvin could speak I can only imagine what he would say...
I appreciate this Forum more than all here can know. I've learned a lot by observing. If I was not clear last night I am sorry. I did not mean that the MGF, specifically. Thank you for keeping the conversations going. Just don't believe everything you read or hear. There is ALWAYS another side.
Please, have a wonderful day! wink

Apparently, 'somebody' is not feeling my presence here or my opinions. I have read hundreds of opinions not just here but other places. Sort of ironic. There is no judgement from me. Its upsetting to think that anyone would think I am criticizing. I NEVER said good things are not said here. People tend to editorialize. Fact of life. I am not one of them. Keep doing what you're doing...express yourself!!!
