xx Marvin Gaye III
« Thread started on: Aug 11th, 2010, 2:26pm »

Marvin Pentz Gaye III has often been the subject of rumors and sometimes ridicule during his nearly 45-year existence. If you believe David Ritz's account, Marvin III was adopted, if you believe Dyson, he's the product of a planned pregnancy by Marvin and Denise Gordy (which for some reason I still don't believe). I think to me, while Marvin loved him as his own son, that Marvin III may have felt jealous because his younger brother Frankie look exactly like him whereas Marvin III either looks like a Gordy or may have been the product of Denise and another boy and passed on as Marvin's child, which is also tabloid fodder. People choose to wanna believe either story. Then we have to deal with Marvin III's dealings with life after his father's death. I think of all three children, he struggled to deal with it and also the pressure to live up to what his father was by trying to establish a music career but instead he fall to vices that was common to his father and grandfather and couldn't really shake the cycle that his namesakes had. I just wonder how he feels about his mother and how close they used to be (Anna's now being taken care of by Denise). I wonder what's in his head sometimes too. I feel for him as I do the rest of his children (Nona and Frankie weigh heavy on my mind too), I just hope that he doesn't succumb to whatever his family succumbed to be it by choice or sickness.

Yes, I'm sure he thinks of his parents. The ones who adopted him. And of course his natural mother. Marvin Gaye III is really a Gordy by blood. Anna Gordy is really his aunt. So I guess that would be on him. Since most people end up on talk shows looking for their natural parents. I'm sure he's somewhere looking at his birth certificate. Do you think that he gets upset now, knowing that his dad was openly dating another woman while he was married to his mom/aunt? It's really amazing how celebrity families won't tell the truth. They sell lies. cry

Yes we hope he doesn't do what his father or grandfather did. What does he do in life and what has he done for himself? What are his talents? There will NEVER be another Marvin Gaye. That goes for children and all. It just won't happen. It would be good to here positive things about what everyone in Marvins family is doing. Let it be something better than getting off of drugs. Drugs keep you from being in your family, supporting them and knowing your role as a family person.

Marvin III desperately tried to get a career going. About 20 years ago, he and Lou Rawls' son were trying to start a rap duo but that never panned out. Years later, both men sued each other over a dispute at Marvin III's house. Lou claimed Marvin's dog had bit him or something. Marvin III tried to establish himself (and continues to) as a record producer but he hasn't had any success. I saw pictures of him recently with blond hair. He looked a mess.

That can explain his drug-infused rage at Anna for whatever reason. I'm sure he knew the truth after his father died and couldn't shake that feeling off. Denise Gordy has remained quiet about the situation, mainly for Anna's sake regardless of its authenticity. THAT being said, he looks more like a Gordy than his father.

Marvin Gaye was not dating another woman (Denise Gordy) while married to Anna Gordy. It was arranged by the Gordy family to get Denise pregnant.

Yeah I know. But that's one weird arrangement but it happened. I can understand why Marvin didn't wanna "reveal it all" so to speak.

Aw man that's tough news sad

Despite some of the more questionable things he's done in the past it's always a shame to hear about someone needing a kidney transplant and such.

I made a thread about this already but I'm starting to think that Marvin III was the result of artificial insemination by Marvin and Denise Gordy. The more I think about that word "arrangement", I'm thinking it's like what Michael Jackson (allegedly) did with his three children. That it was just an "arrangement" and nothing more, meaning Marvin and Denise didn't actually have physical sex. It's still weird though. Maybe more will be revealed if, God forbid, Marvin III dies before his time.

Timmy84, artificial insemination didn't come along until 1978, 13 years after Marvin III was born. If it is true that he is the child of Marvin Gaye and Denise Gordy, then he was conceived in the usual manner.

Hmmm. Valid point... Honestly, I still don't know where I stand on this matter yet.

Whoa! If M3 was conceived in the "usual manner", then why was Marvin not busted for statutory rape? That's a CRIME, regardless of whether or not the encounter was consensual & absoutely no authorities will take bribes from ANYBODY, not even the Gordys, to keep quiet! Artificial insemination only came into full, worldwide usage in 1978; the process was being used in other countries as early as the start of the 1960's. I still think that one of two simple, very inexpensive items were used to conceive M3: a medicine dropper or turkey baster! In fact, I read a few years ago that a woman with HIV was able to have a healthy, uninfected baby conceived in the above manner!
