Little Richard makes the following Allegations in his book "The Life and Times of Little Richard".

"When I first went out on tour with Marvin Gaye, I noticed that he was shy. The show itself was down and funky and featured a provocative singer named Titty Tassel Toni. I heard that she had seduced Marvin but she loudly complained that Marvin wouldn't perform oral on her. Toni was too aggressive for Marvin. The more she titillated him, the more irritated he became. She didn't dig rejection and they got into a loud argument. She was calling Marvin a motherfucker and slapping him upside his head. Toni and Marvin were verbally slugging it out. To get to our hotel we had to walk across a dirt field. The next thing I know, they both fell into a ditch, just the two of them. Toni landing on Marvin's stomach. That's when the fight started, Toni scratched Marvin and suddenly I hear a blood curdling scream from Marvin-"She bit me! She bit me in the stomach!" And sure enough, Toni took a plug out of Marvin's tummy and he's bleeding, I had to separate them. Poor Marvin carried that scar on his stomach till the day he died."

Heh, Was this the same tour where Marvin and some other musicians got busted for drug possession? I remember reading that Marvin was scared out of his whits and couldn't sleep at all in the jail cell. (they only stayed a night)

Yeah this was the same tour. I think the Moonglows broke up as soon as that happened (1960).

It was probably closed up by the time Marvin started doing his strip teasing routine in the mid-1970s. cheesy

Wait, did this quote come from Richard or Etta James?
