"Soul In The Bowl", I think that's what the Smokester called it. I haven't seen them in about five years. My favorite one was the chicken-and-sausage gumbo. They were sold in the Kroger stores, and I can still hear the in-store promo ad with Smokey speaking, over "Ooo Baby Baby" playing in the background in my head. If anyone knows what happened to the meals, let me know. Google has failed me in finding a news story on the meals' disappearance.

Who knows? Wasn't Smoke getting sued by someone for this?

Bumped for update! Yes, Smokey was slapped with a lawsuit--a New Orleans chef claimed that Smokey stole his recipes for the gumbo, red beans & rice, & other Cajun/Creole foods that were in the series. Poor Smokey lost, big time! I certainly hope he can relaunch his meals in the future--he did have a non-Cajun meal I also liked, pot roast! Tasted just as good as the way my dad makes it!

Yeah, that was a real blow with Smokey. I'm always skeptical of those type of meals especially in the packaging.
